Privacy Policy

Information stored on your device

Aether Veil stores the information you enter for its personalized features locally on your device. This can include profile labels, birth date and time, birth location and time zone, optional gender, app settings, lunar notes, and Oracle chat history. This local information remains on your device unless a feature described below needs to process part of it.

Oracle and astrology services

When you ask the Oracle a question, Aether Veil sends the following information through our Vercel-hosted service to OpenAI so that an answer can be generated:

• your question and selected app language;
• derived astrological context, such as planet placements, transits, and lunar information; and
• a device identifier used to apply usage limits and subscription access.

The request does not include your profile label or raw birth location. Aether Veil does not intentionally retain Oracle questions or generated answers on its own servers after returning the response. Your chat history is saved locally on your device. Hosting and AI providers may process limited technical and request data according to their own privacy and security practices.

Subscriptions and purchases

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Aether Veil does not receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat processes a device identifier, product identifiers, purchase status, and subscription entitlement information so the app can offer, activate, and restore Oracle Pro. Apple and RevenueCat may retain transaction records as required to provide purchases, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

Location information

With your permission, Aether Veil uses precise device location to calculate local astronomical information and to help select places. Most astronomy calculations occur on your device. Coordinates or place-search text may also be processed by platform geocoding services, TimeAPI.io, or OpenStreetMap Nominatim to determine a place name or time zone. Aether Veil does not use location for advertising or tracking.

Service and device data

Our hosting and service providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as IP address, request time, device or operating-system information, and error diagnostics. Aether Veil uses an Apple identifier for vendor as its app device identifier; it is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How information is used

Information is used only to provide app functionality, generate requested Oracle responses, calculate usage allowances, verify purchases, restore subscriptions, maintain security, diagnose errors, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.

Retention and deletion

• Profiles, notes, settings, and chat history remain locally until you delete them in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
• Monthly Oracle usage counters associated with a device identifier normally expire after approximately 35 days.
• Additional-token balances remain until used or deleted following a verified request.
• Purchase and entitlement records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their legal and operational requirements.

You can contact us to request access to or deletion of information controlled by Aether Veil. We may need enough information to verify and locate the relevant device record. Some transaction information may need to be retained by Apple, RevenueCat, or us for legal, accounting, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Sharing and international processing

Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the features you choose, including Apple, RevenueCat, Vercel, OpenAI, platform geocoding providers, TimeAPI.io, and OpenStreetMap Nominatim. These providers may process information in countries other than your own and are responsible for their processing under their applicable terms and privacy policies.

Security

We use HTTPS in transit and limit the information sent to each service to what is needed for the requested feature. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse.

Your choices

You can deny location permission and enter a location manually, avoid using the Oracle service, delete locally saved profiles, notes, or chat history, and manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or its service providers change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
